Implementation of active learning through online global nursing training course: Active learning using PBL was conducted online in global nursing program of the Faculty of Nursing. As a background, the Faculty of Nursing at Soka University advocates the development of nurses with global perspective as one of the three characteristics of developing human care professionals. It is embodied by inviting guest professors from affiliated universities worldwide and training courses overseas. In 2020, all global nursing training courses in the United States, Africa, the Philippines, etc. were canceled due to the spread of novel coronavirus pandemic. With the support of faculty members at the University of California, San Francisco, a global nursing online training program was held in March, 2021 with nine representative nursing students as a new attempt. The contents of the three-day online training were online lectures by teachers with Q & A from students and a group research presentation by the nursing students. During the preparation period of about one and a half months, in which a group of three people sets a theme of interest, analyzes the current situation through literature review, summarizes problem-solving proposals for problems in PowerPoint, and presents them in English. In the students' learning process, faculty members constantly watched over student-centered learning and continued to support through Zoom discussions, often 2-3 times a week. Learning outcomes based on student-perceived "learning" and university standards will be clarified by studies using evaluation scales., 2020

Global nursing program provides nursing students various opportunities. Two weeks overseas training course is one of the opportunities students develop their activie learning skills and global perspectives that the faculty of nursing aims. Global Nursing Training Course in the United States, for example, offers extensive preparatory classess that help the students prepare themselves to conduct a personal research study., 2018
